Traffic Advisory Issued For Slice Of Saugatuck Event: Westport PD

A portion of Railroad Place will be closed over the weekend during the Slice of Saugatuck Festival, according to Westport police.

WESTPORT, CT — Police have issued a traffic advisory for the Slice of Saugatuck Festival scheduled to take place Saturday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to police.

In a news release, Police Lt. Jillian Cabana said Railroad Place will be closed to traffic from Riverside Avenue to Franklin Street the day of the event, from approximately 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., to allow for set up and break down of vendors' booths and exhibitions.

All other roads will remain open to vehicular traffic, however drivers should expect heavy pedestrian traffic from the event in areas surrounding the Saugatuck Railroad Station, including lower Riverside Avenue and Saugatuck Avenue, Cabana said.

Pedestrians are reminded to use crosswalks when crossing the road, Cabana said.

The Saugatuck Railroad station lots will also be used to provide parking for the event. If traveling to the railroad station or destinations in the immediate vicinity, please drive carefully and be sure to allow extra time for any traffic delays resulting from this event, Cabana said.
