Two Rescued After Pickup Truck Rolls Over into Norwalk River

NORWALK, CT - Two men were rescued Sunday night after the pickup truck they were in careened down an embankment and rolled over into the Norwalk River along Perry Avenue, according to police.

The Stamford Advocate reports that a phalanx of firefighters, paramedics and police officers were required to pull one of the men from vehicle. The other man had scrambled out under his own power to the embankment.

Both men suffered injuries, one seriously, and were transported to Norwalk Hospital. The victim who climbed out of the vehicle allegedly argued with police who then placed him in handcuffs, according to authorities.

The incident occurred near the Metro-North train tracks and will also be investigated by MTA police.
