Two St. Luke’s Students Win National Merit Scholarships
Congratulations to Aarit Bhatnagar '22 of New Canaan and Henry Robb '22 of Pound Ridge, NY.

St. Luke’s students, Aarit Bhatnagar ‘22 and Henry Robb ‘22, were recently selected as scholarship recipients in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Bhatnagar was selected as a $2,500 Merit Scholarship winner and Robb as a College-Sponsored Merit Scholarship winner.
According to the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, the $2,500 scholarship recipients were chosen from a pool of more than 15,000 finalists “based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments.” When selecting winners, a committee of college admission officers and high school counselors evaluated students on various criteria, including academic records, their school's curriculum and grading system, PSAT scores, written recommendations, activities, leadership roles, and an essay. National Merit $2,500 Scholarship winners are the finalists from each state with the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

Recipients of the College-Sponsored Merit Scholarship are selected by officials from the sponsoring college. Recipients must be accepted to the school and committed to attending. Robb received his award from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he will head this fall. As an award recipient, he is eligible to renew his award for four years of undergraduate studies at RPI.
