Virtual After School With Westport Continuing Education

Online courses for students kindergarten through college begin the week of May 11.

Westport / CT -- Join our Virtual After School for kids in grades K through college. Online courses begin the week of May 11, with Mad Science, arts, and theater activities. Registration is now open on the Westport Continuing Education website here.

Younger students in grades K - 3 can choose from two art programs led by Jennifer Pagan. Art Explorations: Amazing Faces begins on Wednesday, May 13 and runs through June 10 from from 3:30 - 4:45 pm. Level up your skill creating faces! Projects range from pixel/Minecraft portraits to creating Arcimboldo style faces with food and found objects. In Art Explorations: Color + Line = Pattern, get ready to express the artistic elements of line and color. The class meets on Tuesdays from 4:00 - 5:15 pm from May 12 through June 9.

For upper elementary students, Margie Stokley-Bronz presents her popular Create-a-Comic after school program on Thursdays from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. Students in grades 1 - 5 can let their imagination guide the way to make your ideas into super fun comics. Craft a spellbinding storyline, add your characters and captions, and finish with pen or color! Create-a-Comic runs from May 14 through June 11.

Instructor Jessica Hughes presents Art Around the World for students in grades from 3 - 5 to explore beautiful, colorful art from different cultures on Fridays from 4:30 - 5:45 pm from May 15 through June 5. For Hidden Artists in Museums, get your passports, it’s time to take a trip around the world! In this art class for grades 3 - 5, explore beautiful, colorful art from a variety of different cultures. This virtual trip takes place on Mondays from 4:30 - 5:45pm from May 11 - June 8 (no class on May 25).

For kids in grades 1 - 4 who love inventions and experiments, join Mad Science: Science Wonders online! Each session is a live, INTERACTIVE on-line genuine Mad Science program with demos, at-home activities and a real Mad Scientist. The class meets on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 4:30 pm from May 12 through June 9.
For aspiring actors in grades 9 through college, Margie Stokley-Bronz leads a class on how to Build an Audition Book. Focus on building the tools and skills you need when entering an audition room. Learn how to choose the best monologues, ones that help your personality shine through on stage. The class meets Tuesdays from 2:00 - 3:00 pm from May 12 - June 9.
