Westport 4th Grade Students Make Finals In State 'Invention Convention'

The four students are from Coleytown Elementary and Kings Highway schools.

WESTPORT, CT — During last weekend's Western Connecticut Regionals, four Westport 4th graders successfully advanced to the state finals of the national Invention Convention.

Coleytown Elementary students Lucas Ceballos-Cala and Pierce Brown, and Kings Highway School students Kate Watkins and Samantha Henske, will participate in the finals on April 29 at the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

All four students are members of the Westport Workshop (gifted) program, and if they're victorious on the 29th, they will advance to the national competition, which takes place at the United States Trademark and Patent office in Alexandria, Virginia, in June.
