Westport 8th Grader & Poet Wins Honor For Original Poem

She was one of several Westport students to win praise for their work in the national PTA Reflections Art contest.

WESTPORT, CT — Coleytown Middle School 8th grader and poet Allison Gillman recently won 2nd place in literature for her poem, "A Hero Defined," in Connecticut in the PTA Reflections Art Contest, announced Westport school officials.

At Bedford Middle School, in the music category, Charlotte Franklin's "The Fire Within" garnered
3rd place.

Also at Staples High School, students took an impressive three first place finishes: Juliette Saviano in Dance, Greta Gilbert in Literature, and Chloe Chaple in Film, according to officials. Additionally, Dylan Goodman won 2nd place in Music and Rachel Varsano placed 4th in Visual Arts.

the national level!" school officials stated.
