Westport Accepting Renters' Rebate Program Applications
The Human Services Department will begin accepting applications from qualifying Westport residents for the state's Renters' Rebate Program.

WESTPORT, CT — The Human Services Department has announced that it will begin accepting qualifying resident applications for the State of Connecticut's Renters' Rebate Program starting May 2.
According to a news release provided by the town, the CT Renters' Rebate Program provides income-based reimbursement for seniors aged 65+ and/or individuals with disabilities who are currently collecting social security or social security disability income.
The rebate is calculated based on a graduated income scale, combined with the amount of rent and utility payments (excluding telephone) made in the previous calendar year (2021). The maximum income for a single person to qualify is $38,100 or $46,400 for a married couple.

In addition to meeting the criteria above, applicants must meet a one-year state residency requirement. Persons renting an apartment, room, mobile home or living in cooperative housing may be eligible for this program.
The deadline to apply for the state funded program is Sept. 29.

Westport residents who wish to apply for the CT Renter’s Rebate Program must contact the Human Services Department at (203) 341-1067 or via email Kwitt@westportct.gov to complete the application process by appointment. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
