Westport Appoints New School Administrator After Extensive Search
Following an extensive search, Westport has appointed a new Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services.

WESTPORT, CT — Following an extensive search, the Westport Public Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Tina Mannarino as an Assistant Superintendent for Pupil Personnel Services. She will officially start the position July 1.
According to a news release, Mannarino comes to the district from LEARN - Regional Education Service Center in Old Lyme, where she has served as the Director for the Department of Programs and Services for Young Children and Families since 2015.
Prior to this role, Mannarino served as the Supervisor of Early Childhood Education with the New Haven Public Schools for ten years, and as the Director of Pupil Personnel Services and Special Education Services with the New London Public Schools for seven years.

Her career in education began as a school psychologist with schools in New York and with the Branford Public Schools. In addition to all of her work in the public school setting, Mannarino also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Education at Albertus Magnus College.
Through her career, Mannarino has also been selected to serve as a presenter at local and national conferences on a variety of topics relating to her work in education.

Mannarino earned her Bachelor of Arts from Brooklyn College of the City University of New York with a major in Psychology. She went on to earn a Master of Education & Advanced Certificate, School Psychology from the same institution before completing her Sixth Year Diploma, Educational Leadership at Southern Connecticut State University.
Mannarino was awarded a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Connecticut, focusing her dissertation on Organizational Capacity as a Mediating Factor in School Reform.
Her passion for her work and her innovative ideas have created exceptional learning opportunities for both the students in her care and the professionals with whom she has worked. District officials said they are eager to welcome her to their team of professionals dedicated to the support and success of every student.
“We are all delighted to have such a talented and compassionate professional assume such a critical position of executive leadership in our district," Superintendent of Schools Colleen Palmer said in a release. "I am confident that the Westport Public Schools will be well-served with her expertise and tenacity for excellence in all she does.”
