Westport Board of Education Seeks to Fill Vacancy

Board member Brett Aronow is moving out of town and recently resigned.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Board of Education is seeking candidates to fill the vacancy following the recent resignation of Brett Aronow, the board announced.

The successful candidate will serve on the board from the date of appointment until the Board of Education election scheduled for November 2017.

Aronow, a Democrat who served on the board for four years, is moving out of town. Her resignation takes effect at the end of the month.

The board states that individuals interested in being considered for the appointment are required to be:

  • A registered Democrat;
  • Willing to be interviewed separately by the Democratic Town Committee and the Board of Education prior to appointment; and
  • Willing to serve and attend Board of Education meetings immediately upon appointment, which appointment will take place as early as October 2016.
