Westport Bridge Being Reduced To One Lane
The bridge can no longer accommodate full traffic loads safely.

WESTPORT, CT — The Town of Westport will reduce Bayberry Lane Bridge over the Aspetuck River to alternating one-lane traffic in the near future following a recent state Department of Transportation inspection report.
The state de-rated the outer beams to the point that full traffic loads are no longer allowed. The bridge is expected to be replaced beginning in early 2018 with construction likely in 2019 or 2020, according to the first selectman's office.
Federal aid would cover 80 percent of the project while the remaining 20 percent would come from town funds.
