Westport Bridge To Close Temporarily
Town officials said the temporary closure is weather dependent and appropriate signage will be posted.

WESTPORT, CT — Public Works Director Peter Ratkiewich announced Wednesday the Bayberry Lane Bridge over the Aspetuck River will be closed from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. beginning Jan. 7 for approximately two days in order to conduct soil borings in preparation for the replacement of the bridge.

The Bayberry Lane Bridge is eligible for replacement under the Federal Local Bridge Program administered by the Connecticut Department of Transportation. The cost of the bridge replacement will receive 80 percent reimbursement from federal aid with the remaining 20 percent paid from municipal funds.
