Westport To Celebrate Arbor Day With Giveaway Event

WESTPORT, CT — In recognition of Arbor Day, the town Tree Board will host its annual native sapling giveaway Friday afternoon at Westport Town Hall.

According to a news release provided by the town, the event will take place from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker will read a proclamation establishing Westport's recognition of Arbor Day and the town's selection as a "Tree City USA" per the Arbor Day Foundation.

Native saplings will be given away on a first come, first serve basis. The plants will be donated by the Bartlett Tree Company.
