Press release from The Unitarian Church In Westport:
Dec. 16, 2020
Let's lift our hearts and sing! The Unitarian Church in Westport will host an open-air Community Carol Sing this Saturday, December 19, at 3 PM in its spacious, newly-paved parking lot. This is a chance for all of us to come together - safely - to lift our spirits and join together in traditional songs of celebration and good cheer. These carols and songs will give us the special solace and comfort that familiarity brings, and that is so needed after such an unusual and isolating year. All ages are most welcome for this informal family time of fun and fellowship. Forecasters are already warning it will be cold - so put on your Christmas sweater, mittens, hats and scarves, and bundle up and get ready to join us all in song and joy!

Words to carols and holiday songs will be provided; it'll be a mix of secular and Christmas carols. We'll use flashlights on our phones to sing Silent Night at dusk. This will be unaccompanied singing - well, there'll probably be some jingling bells! - but instrumentalists are welcome to come along to help us out should they so wish. We will run this on ZOOM as well for those who want to watch and sing-along from the safety of home. Contact events@uuwestport.org for ZOOM link. Masks and social distancing are required if you are at the church.
So - don your gay apparel and we'll see you there!
