WESTPORT, CT — Westport Community Theatre (WCT) is pleased to host “Finding Flow and the Art of Improvisation,” a special two-day improv workshop for adults, on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20 from 12 noon to 4 PM each day. The sessions take place at the theater, located in the lower level of Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue, in Westport.

Led by veteran WCT actor and improviser Rosanne Nelson of Fairfield, the workshop follows the teaching methodology of accomplished improviser David Razowsky, author of “A Subversives’ Guide to Improvisation.” Ms. Nelson trained intensively for three years with Razowsky, the respected teacher and former artistic director of the Second City Los Angeles, who as an actor has written and performed in ten Second City Chicago revues. During his tenure as a performer at Second City, Razowsky worked with Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Jeff Garlin, Keegan-Michael Key, Amy Sedaris, and Rachel Dratch, among others.

For this workshop, all levels of experience are welcome, and previous improvisational experience is not required. Says Nelson, “No matter what your experience, you can learn how to sharpen your skills with new and innovative long form techniques. In this workshop, you will learn how to consistently start your scenes with ease, create unique and riveting performances, fiercely focus “in the moment”, hold on to your point of view and — once and for all — silence your inner critic!”

The cost for the 8-hour in-person intensive is $175. Enrollment is limited. To reserve your space, email improvwolfpack@gmail.com or contact the WCT Box Office at 203-226-1983.
