Westport / CT -- Learn something new for health and wellness! Westport Continuing Education is filling the need for enrichment courses online this May. Health, wellness and gardening workshops can help beat the boredom! Registration is now open on the Westport Continuing Education website here.
Samantha Parker will present Ayurveda on Thursday, May 7 from 2:00 - 3:15 pm. Ayurveda, or “The Science of Life, originated in India more than 5,000 years ago. Learn how to apply this timeless wisdom to your modern life to foster greater balance, health, and longevity. Samantha Parker is board certified by the National Ayurvedic Medical Association. Her Ayurvedic practice, Anjali, encompasses the whole body with a focus on gut health.

In Eat, Move, Sleep, join master fitness and intuitive eating coach Linda Gottlieb and learn how to conquer the three biggest obstacles to optimal health: the quality and quantity of your food, exercise, and rest. Get proven and practical ideas that are comprehensive yet simple to execute and learn to make better decisions in all three of these interconnected areas! The workshop will be held on Thursdays, May 7 through May 21 from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Linda Gottlieb, owner of FIT Training, is a nationally certified personal fitness coach, cancer exercise trainer, and mindful eating mentor with over 30 years experience. She is on staff at Yale University as a cancer exercise trainer, in addition to serving her in-home fitness clientele, and is the author of No Ifs and Butts: How to Turn Your Top 10 Exercises Excuses into Fitness Triumphs.

Our recent New England weather has made it difficult to go outside, but keep planning your garden and plantings with Jay Petrow’s workshop Design a Meadow for Pollinators on Thursday, May 21 from 7:00 - 8:30 pm. Gardening and planting to promote pollinators are becoming more popular to encourage birds, bats, bees and butterflies to pollinate plants - this wildlife is responsible for bringing us one out of every three bites of food! Presenter Jay Petrow studied at the New York Botanical Garden Landscape Design Program and owns his own business, Petrow Gardens.
