Westport Country Playhouse Renamed Following $3 Million Donation

WESTPORT, CT — Following a $3 million donation, the Westport Country Playhouse will now be renamed for the generous donor, Westport News reported. The campus will now be known as The Howard J. Aibel Theater Center at Westport Country Playhouse.

According to Westport News, Aibel currently serves as the vice chair for the Playhouse board of trustees, and has been a member of the board since 2005. He is a resident of Weston.

The donation, announced Tuesday, is comprised of $500,000 designated for current operations, $500,000 to go toward working capital reserve and $2 million for the establishment of an endowment held in an irrevocable trust, according to Westport News.
