The single biggest issue in town is ______, and I plan to do this about it:
The single most pressing issue facing our district is to ensure the safety of our school buildings for all stakeholders. The district must prioritize any deferred maintenance of our facilities. Failure to do so would jeopardize the health of staff and students and the ability to continue educating without further disruption. This issue requires in-depth analysis, so ultimately we can assess the results, and decide on a course of action that ensures a safe learning environment for our students. The strategic planning process will allow us the opportunity to embed solutions into the long-term plan for the district.
Critical differences between me and my opponents:
I believe the critical difference in me as a candidate is my depth of experience over 18 years in education and across all levels of it. As a teacher, school administrator, and district superintendent level administrator (working closely with our Board of Education), I am uniquely equipped with a multi-tiered perspective. This allows me to predict impact on all stakeholders (including parents) when considering proposed solutions. I also bring a wealth of experience in Special Education, both gifted and special needs programs.
Accomplishments:
I have successfully launched new curriculum, established parent and community programs, and I have improved student performance outcomes throughout my years and levels of experience in education.
Other issues:
My campaign platform is founded on facilities, equity, and special education.
What else would you like voters to know about you?
I pride myself on hearing all sides and considering all solutions. I am a thoughtful professional with the experience needed to maintain and elevate our district's elite status. I look forward to serving in this capacity or any other where I am needed for the betterment of our town.
