Westport Finance Board Seeks More Data On New Long Lots School: Report

WESTPORT, CT — Discussions are continuing about the new Long Lots School, with the Board of Finance Monday seeking more budgetary information for the school's design phase, Westport Journal reported.

The new school has received support from First Selectwoman Jen Tooker, but some residents oppose the plan because it would necessitate moving the Community Gardens from Long Lots, where it has been for years, to another site in town.

Finance Board members requested additional comparison information on similar schools that have been built in recent years to ensure that the town's tax dollars are being well-spent.

The board is seeking the additional information by its next meeting, before it votes on whether to approve the design phase funding.
