Westport Firefighters Free Deer Stuck in Metal Fence
Firefighters used the jaws-of-life extraction tool to free a deer from a metal fence on Beachside Avenue, according to reports.
Westport firefighters and Westport Animal Control freed a deer from a fence, using the “jaws of life” extraction device to bend the metal fence, according to a post on the Westport town government Facebook page.
Town police temporarily closed Beachside Avenue to keep cars away while the deer ran off, according to a report on NBC Connecticut, which also said the deer darted off across the street and disappeared unharmed.
