Westport High School Softball Coach Suspended: Report

WESTPORT, CT — A Staples High School softball coach said he has been suspended and is allegedly under investigation following alleged complaints from parents, Game Time CT reported.

According to Game Time CT, third-year coach Luigi Cammarota said school officials told him Friday he had been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation by the Connecticut Department of Children and Families, however he also said he has been told by the DCF he is not under investigation of any kind.

Game Time CT also reported that multiple sources close to the program said the suspension stems from a confrontation between Cammarota and a parent that occurred May 4 following a game against Darien.
