Westport To Host Public Presentation On Beach Resiliency Studies

Residents can review coastal planning findings, regulatory considerations, and project costs during an online public discussion.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Parks and Recreation Commission will host a public presentation and discussion on comprehensive beach resiliency planning studies for the town's beaches at 6:30 p.m. on July 13, via Zoom. See below.

The presentation will provide an overview of studies prepared by RACE Coastal Engineering for Compo Beach, Old Mill Beach, Burying Hill Beach and Canal Beach. Topics will include existing site conditions, potential beach profiles, anticipated regulatory requirements and cost considerations related to future beach resiliency planning.

According to the commission, the studies are intended to inform future planning efforts by examining challenges and opportunities associated with protecting and preserving the town's public beaches as coastal conditions change.

Following the presentation, attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and participate in a public discussion.
