Westport Inn, Restaurant To Makes Changes To Comply With ADA: DOJ
Several changes are being made at two Westport establishments to ensure they are in compliance with ADA, according to the DOJ.

WESTPORT, CT — The Department of Justice announced Tuesday that several changes will be made at the Inn at Longshore and the Pearl at Longshore Restaurant in Westport to resolve allegations that they were not operating in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”).
According to the DOJ, parking facilities are provided for both establishments by the town, while the Inn at Longshore also leases its premises from the town. The Pearl at Longshore Restaurant leases its premises from the Inn at Longshore, according to a release.
An ADA complaint was filed by an individual with disabilities alleging that the two establishments were not accessible for individuals with physical disabilities, the DOJ said.

According to the DOJ, the inn, restaurant and town are currently in the process of making necessary changes, which include increasing the accessibility of the entrance to the inn, doubling the number of accessible parking spaces, adding an accessible bathroom for use by restaurant patrons and visitors to the inn, providing guest rooms with communication features, ensuring the restaurant’s porch is accessible and increasing the number of accessible dining seats within the restaurant.
The town and the Pearl will make improvements over the next six months, while the Inn will continue to make improvements over the next two years.
