Westport to Launch New Club to Foster Communication between Police and Youth
Students in grades 8 through 10 are invited to participate.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Police Department and Westport Youth Services are looking for students in grades 8-10 for a new Westport Police-Youth Club aimed to enhance communication and foster a better understanding between the two groups, officials announced.
Funded through a grant award from the state Office of Policy and Management and its Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee, the club will include monthly meetings, team building, and community service opportunities for youth and Westport police officers to work together.
By bringing students and police together in a non-enforcement capacity, officials are hoping to foster meaningful discussion and continue to strengthen a healthy community with a foundation of mutual respect.
