Westport Library To Exhibit Works By Maj And Lonny Kalfus

The Westport Library will feature husband-and-wife artists Maj and Lonny Kalfus in “Kalfus x 2,” according to the library's announcement. The exhibition runs in the South Gallery from Friday, Dec. 11, 2026, through Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2027, at 20 Jesup Road.

The Weston-based artists work in several media. Lonny Kalfus' photographs in the exhibition use a cross-processing technique that produces saturated colors. “The intense colors and shadows achieved were my reward,” he wrote in his artist statement.

Maj Kalfus works with oils, acrylics, pastel, collage, graphite and ink, according to the announcement. Her artist statement identifies collage as her current passion. “Like a puzzle, I enjoy diving into a sea of ephemera and watch an image emerge,” she wrote.

A reception begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, in the library's Trefz Forum. The announcement lists Maj and Lonny Kalfus, Hernan Garcia and Leone Dao as participants, with a conversation involving Miggs Burroughs from 7 to 8 p.m.
