"The investigating officer is familiar with Mr. Doyle as he has had numerous interactions with the Westport Police," wrote Lt. Eric Woods in a statement. "The complainant had suspected mail theft from her front porch and suspected Mr. Doyle was responsible, so she installed surveillance cameras. The surveillance cameras confirmed her suspicion and captured Mr. Doyle allegedly throwing mail under her car on the evening of March 19th, 2023. The complainant further reported that on another date prior to the mail theft, Mr. Doyle was on his back porch and made threatening comments to the complainant."

Doyle was held in lieu of bail of $50,000, and he was scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday.
