Westport Man Allegedly Threatens Cop While in Lobby of Police Headquarters

The incident occurred at night on Aug. 30.

WESTPORT, CT — A 57-year-old Westport man was arrested on Aug. 30 for allegedly threatening a police officer and department civilian inside the lobby of police headquarters on Jesup Road.

Lawrence Kozar was charged with second-degree Threatening and Breach of Peace in connection with the 8 p.m. incident.

"When asked to have a seat, Kozar took a fighting stance and did not obey the Officer’s command," police wrote in a statement.

Kozar was taken into custody and held in lieu of a $1,000 non surety bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 9.
