Westport Middle School Students Learn How Inventions Can Solve Problems

Part of the nationwide Inventor's Challenge, sponsored by the Imagination Foundation and AT&T.

WESTPORT, CT — A group of Bedford Middle School seventh graders recently participated in the nationwide Inventor’s Challenge, sponsored by the Imagination Foundation and AT&T, school officials announced.

The challenge asked students to select a problem, design a solution, create a prototype, and upload a video presentation explaining their creation. This year marks the second-annual Inventor’s Challenge, which is an opportunity for pre-K through high school students to create novel, imaginative and possibly viable solutions to challenges in their community and world.

"AT&T is excited to be playing a small role in supporting the next generation of inventors and problem solvers," said John Emra, President of AT&T Connecticut, in a statement. "One of the most exciting aspects of the Inventor’s Challenge is the way the program integrates science, technology, engineering, art and math alongside critical 21st century skills."
