Westport Opens Temporary Fire Station at Cedar Point Yacht Club

The Town of Westport has opened a temporary fire station, its fifth, at the Cedar Point Yacht Club to help Saugatuck residents deal with Saturday’s blizzard, officials announced on the town’s Facebook page.

Saturday’s blizzard had already dumped a few inches of snow on the area before noon, and significantly more snow is predicted to fall throughout the afternoon and evening hours.

Canal Road was already flooded, according to officials, and high tides pounded the shores. The next high tide is scheduled for 11 p.m.
