Westport P&Z Commission Schedules Review Of Zoning Text Amendment
The public hearing will be held remotely using Zoom, and livestreamed on the town's website.
WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled a public hearing for 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, to review Text Amendment #864 of the Zoning Regulations.
According to Planning and Zoning Director Michelle Perillie, the text amendment proposes modifying §5, Definition of Special Needs Individuals, to reference U.S. Code 42 U.S.C. §15002 in order to serve a wider range of individuals.
Additionally, Text Amendment #864 also proposes modifying §39A, Inclusionary Housing Overlay District (IHZ), to allow offsite affordable housing, at the discretion of the Planning and Zoning Commission and establishing a non-exclusive list of evaluation criteria, including floor area, number of people served, affordability level, location, amenities, moratoria points, and fee-in-lieu contributions for consideration by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

The January 26, 2026 public hearing will be held remotely using Zoom. It will be livestreamed on the Town’s website at www.westportct.gov, and/or will be accessible on Optimum Government Access Channel 79. The remote meeting link is published on the meeting agenda available on the Town’s website on the “Meeting List and Calendar” web page.

Written comments may be submitted and should be sent to PandZ@westportct.gov by 12:00pm on the day of the meeting if intended to be distributed for consideration by members of the Planning and Zoning Commission. Written comments received after 12:00pm on the day of the meeting will be added to the record but not be distributed until the next business day.
