Westport P&Z to Consider Fitness Club Zoning Amendment

The commission is scheduled to discuss a regulation change during a meeting later this month.

Westport, CT - The Westport Planning and Zoning Commission this month will discuss a possible zoning change to allow fitness centers and exercise facilities in the Restricted Office-Retail District, P&Z Director Steve Palmer announced.

The proposed amendment was submitted by local land use expert Mel Barr of Barr Associates, LLC, and it would potentially affect nine properties located near the intersections of Riverside Avenue/Sylvan Lane and Riverside Avenue/Sylvan Road South.

The P&Z is scheduled to meet at 7 p.m. on July 21 in the Town Hall Auditorium.
