Westport PD Extending Emergency Notifications To Private Schools
Ideally, the database would include private schools, daycare facilities, religious education programs and similar institutions.

From the Westport Police Department: In light of recent local as well as national events, the Westport Police Department will be compiling a database from which notification can be made to private institutions responsible for the education and/or care of children in the event of any school related emergency. Ideally this database would include private schools, day care facilities, religious education programs and similar institutions.
Currently in the event of a school lockdown or other emergency at a Westport public school there is a
notification system in place by which all other public schools receive alerts of this incident as well as
relevant updates. For those wishing to participate, the police department would like to extend this
information sharing network to include private education institutions as well via telephonic notification.
