Westport Physician Makes Presentation At National Conference

Maplewood Senior Living: Maplewood Senior Living, a leading provider of luxury senior living residences, is pleased to announce Resident Care Specialist, Susann Varano, M.D., presented her findings on improving the quality of life for patients with overactive bladder at the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS) and International Urogynecological Association (IUGA) 2019 Scientific Meeting in Nashville, TN on September 28, 2019. Dr. Varano also contributed to numerous abstracts that were presented in other meetings throughout both the United States and Europe.

As Resident Care Specialist for Maplewood Senior Living, Dr. Varano provides complex care management to residents, coordinating care with PCP, specialists and acute and post-acute providers—facilitating healthcare that is both quality and cost-effective.

A graduate of Chicago Medical School and Saint Joseph’s College, Dr. Varano is double-board certified, specializing in Internal Medicine with a sub-specialty in Geriatric Medicine. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency and Geriatric Fellowship at Yale University and later went on to create the Elder Horizons program at Yale New Haven Hospital. Dr. Varano has advanced medicine as a Principal Investigator for more than 100 clinical trials and has received certification as Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine.
