Westport Police Department Adds 3 New Officers

All three are from nearby communities in Connecticut.

WESTPORT, CT — Three new police officers joined the Westport Police Department Friday, during a ceremony hosted by Chief Foti Koskinas and First Selectwoman Jen Tooker.

From the department's bios, the three new officers are:

  • Officer Ashley Calvao, age 26, comes to us from Monroe, CT and is a graduate of Shelton High School and has completed course work at Housatonic Community College. Officer Calvao has family ties to both the town of Westport as well as to the field of law enforcement. Prior to joining the Westport Police Department, she was employed at Bridgeport’s Emergency Communications Center where her duties included working as a 9-1-1- emergency dispatcher for both police and fire, fielding emergency calls.
  • Officer Sean Fitzpatrick, age 30, comes to us from Stratford, CT where he lives with his wife, Taylor. Sean is a graduate of Stratford High School, Housatonic Community College, and American Military University. Sean holds the rank of E5-Sergeant for the United States Coast Guard.
  • Officer Tyler Mingo, age 30, is a lifelong resident of the City of Norwalk where he lives with his wife, Taylor, and their children. He is a graduate of Norwalk High School and has completed course work at Norwalk Community College. Tyler is a volunteer firefighter with the town of Darien and has been employed with the Town of Westport – Highway Department for the last seven years.

During the ceremony, Koskinas welcomed these new officers and “thanked them for taking a chance on Westport PD,” recognizing that the officers had “several employment opportunities and chose Westport.”
