Westport Police Dog Helps Locate Heroin in Suspect's Vehicle: Cops
The subsequent arrest started with a routine motor vehicle stop.

WESTPORT, CT — A 25-year-old Westport man was arrested on a charge of Possession of Narcotics early Friday after Westport Police K-9 Off. Atlas discovered heroin in the suspect's vehicle, according to police.
Remington Woodhull was pulled over for speeding just after midnight, and at the time Off. James Loomer "could see that [Woodhull] was extremely nervous."
"As a result, the Officer believed that Woodhull may be hiding contraband in the vehicle even though Woodhull denied there was anything illegal in the car," police wrote in a statement. "At this point, Officer Loomer deployed his police service dog (Atlas) in order to determine if there were narcotics in the vehicle. Atlas indicated that there were in fact drugs in the car, and upon searching the area where the K-9 alerted, small amount of heroin was located."
