Westport Public And Private Schools Cancel Classes Monday

A major snow storm is headed our way Monday and Tuesday.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport Public Schools has canceled classes for Monday, Feb. 1, due to the inclement weather expected to sweep through Connecticut overnight, district officials announced.

District offices also will be closed Monday. Additionally, nearby private schools Greens Farms Academy in Westport, New Canaan Country School and St. Luke's School in New Canaan, also canceled classes Monday due to the pending storm.

"Old fashioned snow day for Westport tomorrow," Schools Superintendent Thomas Scarice told Patch Sunday evening.

Westport Public Schools was scheduled to shift to in-person learning for K-8 students on Monday.

The district will decide on Monday how Tuesday's classes will go, but at the very least, Tuesday will be a remote learning day if buildings are again closed and classes cannot be held in person.
