From Morningstar, Westport Resources’ Absolute Total Returns strategy (managed by Shawn Blau) received the highest possible ranking of five stars, and its Diversified Value (managed by William Matthes) and Exchange-Traded Fund (managed by Joe Tatusko) strategies earned four stars. Morningstar rates mutual funds from one to five stars based on how well they've performed in comparison to similar funds. Within each Morningstar category, the top 10 percent of funds receive 5 stars and the next 22.5 percent receive 4 stars. Funds are rated for up to 3 time periods (3, 5 and 10 years) and these ratings are combined to produce an overall rating.
From Informa’s PSN manager ranking database (the longest running investment manager database in North America), three Westport Resources strategies earned “Best of the Best Top Guns” status: Special Income strategy (managed by Joseph Tatusko) is ranked first for the most recent quarter, third over the past year and fifth for the past three years in the Global Fixed Income Universe; the Absolute Total Return strategy is ranked seventh in the Global Equity Universe for the past three years; and the Fixed Income strategy (managed by Joe Tatusko) is ranked eighth for the most recent quarter in the Core Fixed Universe. “Top Guns” status means the strategies were among the top ten performers in their respective peer group.
