Westport Restaurant Closes Suddenly: Report

A Westport restaurant that made headlines in August for an offensive cocktail name has suddenly closed.

WESTPORT, CT — A Westport restaurant that made headlines in August for an offensive cocktail name suddenly closed this week, the Norwalk Hour reported. Local musician Greg Wall told the paper he found 323 Main Street closed on Sunday and the building's owner said the tenant was evicted.

In August, food and dining news source Eater reported the restaurant had removed all of its cocktail menus following a customer complaint over a drink called "The Tuskegee Experiment."

According to their website, 323 is a neighborhood restaurant serving american cuisine with an array of seafood options. The restaurant offers both a formal dining room and a casual lounge area, and has also received a historical plaque from Westport's Historical Society.
