Westport RTM To Consider $195K School Appropriation, $185K Planning Request
At next week's meeting, the Representative Town Meeting will consider school and planning appropriations totaling more than $380,000.
WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Representative Town Meeting is scheduled to consider two appropriations totaling more than $380,000 when it meets Tuesday, Oct. 6.
The in-person meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Westport Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.
Among the items on the agenda is a request from the superintendent of schools for a $195,213.58 appropriation to the 2025-26 budget for the Board of Education's Rentals & Reimbursements Expenditure Account. The request comes with a recommendation from the Board of Finance.

The RTM is also scheduled to consider a $185,000 appropriation to the Capital and Non-Recurring Fund Account for preparation of the town's 2027 Plan of Conservation and Development. The appropriation was requested by the director of Planning & Zoning and recommended by the Board of Finance.

The RTM may also act on First Selectman Kevin Christie's request to confirm the appointment of Jonathan Steinberg to the Representative Policy Board of the Aquarion Water Authority. The proposed term would end June 30, 2028.
If necessary, the RTM is scheduled to reconvene Tuesday, Oct. 20, to address any agenda items not completed when the Oct. 6 meeting adjourns.
