Westport RTM Cancels Upcoming Meeting: Update
Westport's legislative body had one item on the agenda. Update.
WESTPORT, CT — Westport's Representative Town Meeting was scheduled next week to consider whether the town should join the Connecticut Municipal Development Authority, a quasi-public entity established under state law, but the group has canceled the meeting.
The meeting was set for July 7 in the Westport Town Hall auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave., and was scheduled to be held in person.
Instead, the meeting has been canceled, and the RTM's next scheduled meeting is posted for Aug. 4.

The sole business item on the agenda for July 7 was a petition submitted by at least 20 Westport electors requesting that the RTM adopt a resolution to have Westport join the CMDA, which was established under Connecticut General Statutes Sections 8-169hh through 8-169tt.
An agenda for the Aug. 4 meeting was not yet available.
