Westport School Principal Placed On Leave After Arrest: Report
Coleytown Middle School Principal Kris Szabo was arrested in Southbury last week.
WESTPORT, CT — Kris Szabo, principal of Coleytown Middle School since 2004, has been placed on administrative leave following her breach of peace arrest last week in Southbury where she lives, writes The Hour.
Szabo, 49, is accused of slapping a 71-year-old man several times during an altercation in a parking lot on Main Street South in Southbury, according to police. The Nov. 27 altercation reportedly started after the victim confronted Szabo about parking in a no-parking zone, writes the Westport News.
Patch reached out the Westport school district for comment and received the following reply from Interim Schools Superintendent David Abbey:

"Ms. Kris Szabo is currently on administrative leave pending our review of a matter that occurred outside of school."
Szabo was charged with second-degree breach of peace and was released after posting a $500 bond; she is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 11.
