Westport Schools Outline Superintendent Qualities It's Seeking
The new person will replace Elliott Landon, who is retiring in June.

Westport Schools are searching for a new superintendent and have issued a profile of what they are looking for in a qualified candidate.
An article on Westport Now’s website said the person who will replace current Superintendent Elliott Landon should have “well refined writing and speaking skills,” among other qualifications.
Landon will retire in June, and the school district has engaged the national search firm Hazard, Attea & Young to find applicants for the top job.

Other qualifications, from the profile document shared on the district’s website, include a demonstrated record of success not necessarily limited to experience as a superintendent, approachability, having the courage of his or her convictions and a strong commitment to ensuring the district’s programs and services address the needs of the student.
The profile was based on a survey in which 700 people participated, Westport Now reported.
