Westport Senior Center Announced as Temporary Warming Center

Frigid temperatures are on tap for a portion of this weekend.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Center for Senior Activities will remain open until 4:30 p.m. today, Dec. 16, and will be open tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. as a Warming Center due to frigid temperatures, officials announced.

The senior center is located at 21 Imperial Ave. in Westport, and additionally, the public also is invited to warm up at the Westport Public Library, 20 Jesup Road, until 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Please call 2-1-1 for local shelter information. The National Weather Service has issued a “Winter Weather Advisory” for the entire state until Saturday afternoon.
