Westport Seniors Receive Music Scholarship Awards
Two local high school seniors recently received the Joyce and Bernie Zimmerman Music Scholarship.
WESTPORT, CT – Samantha Atlas and Jack Whitten, seniors at Staples High School, were awarded the Joyce and Bernie Zimmerman Foundation Music Scholarship at the Staples Symphonic Band and Orchestra concert on April 24.
The scholarship is a special gift from the Zimmerman Foundation that is awarded to one male member and one female member of the Staples High School graduating class who plan to major in music, according to a release.
Applications were subjected to a rigorous review process that included the evaluation of GPA in music classes, participation in various musical and civic experiences, and the completion of an essay.
