Westport Superintendent Gives Update On School Board Meeting

Due to the weather, school officials have given an update on student after-school activities and the scheduled Board of Education meeting.

WESTPORT, CT – School officials said all student after-school and evening activities are cancelled for Thursday, Nov. 15 due to the pending storm.

According to a notice sent to families by Westport Superintendent Colleen Palmer this afternoon, the the Board of Education meeting scheduled for Thursday night will still take place, with a twist.

"In the spirit of not delaying the formation of the Community Advisory Group, the Board of Education will hold its 7:30 p.m. meeting this evening with a modified approach," Palmer said in an email. "The meeting will be convened using a conference call line available to the Board and members of the public."

The board will reschedule its first agenda item, an update/discussion on CMS/BMS/SHS, but will continue with its second agenda item, a vote on membership of the Community Advisory Group.

If any member of the public wishes to remotely attend the Board of Education meeting, they may join by calling 218-632-9059 and using the code (1234#), Palmer said.
