WESTPORT, CT — The news website WestportNow.com will cease publication at the end of the month, following the death of founder, publisher and former Westport First Selectman Gordon Joseloff.
The publication, which was a mainstay in Westport for the past 18 years, posted about the closing on the site Monday. The site will remain online archived as a historical record of Westport from 2003 to 2020.
Patch reached out to the site's principals for comment but did not immediately receive a response.

"Like many small business owners, he devoted nearly every waking hour to its success," said Joseloff's children, Anna-Liisa Nixon and Ben Joseloff, both Westport residents, in a statement. "WestportNow would never have had such a remarkable run without the contributions of many talented individuals, but Gordon Joseloff was the heart and soul of the newsroom’s 24/7 operations.
"Continuing to provide the level of coverage WestportNow readers expect and deserve without his leadership would be challenging."
