Westport's Annual Slice Of Saugatuck Festival Postponed: UPDATE
With rain in the forecast, the popular event, which is hosted by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce, has been postponed. Update.
WESTPORT, CT — The annual Slice of Saugatuck Festival, hosted by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce, has been postponed, and is now scheduled for 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 14.
"After highly successful events starting in 2011 the Slice returns for the twelfth year on Saturday September 14th, 2024 from 2 pm – 5 pm with over four dozen of Saugatuck's finest restaurants, shops and galleries opening their doors and inviting the community to come and sample their offerings. Walk the streets of Saugatuck Center and taste your way from restaurant to restaurant, to design store, to liquor store, to retail merchant and back."
Tickets/Passport are $15 per person; cost for children ages 5 to 12 is $5. Tickets can be purchased on-site on Saturday, beginning at 1:45 p.m.

The Westport Police Department has issued the following traffic advisory for the Sept. 14 event:
Railroad Place will be closed to vehicular traffic from Riverside Avenue to Franklin Street during the hours of 12:00pm to 6:00pm to allow for set up and break down of vendors’ booths and exhibitions. The east side of Riverside Avenue from Charles Street to Bridge Street will be a temporary No Parking zone during the event. All other roads will remain open to vehicles; however, motorists should expect heavy pedestrian traffic in the areas surrounding the Saugatuck Railroad Station including lower Riverside Avenue and Saugatuck Avenue. Those attending this event are reminded to utilize the marked crosswalks when crossing these roadways. Officers will be assigned to these locations to assist with traffic control.

The Saugatuck Railroad station lots, except for Lot #2, will also be used to provide parking for the festival. If traveling to the railroad station or destinations in the immediate vicinity, please drive carefully and be sure to allow extra time since associated traffic delays are anticipated.
