"Warm weather will be here before we know it, and we are looking forward to offering the many outdoor activities available to residents," said Fava in a statement. "We have regulations in place to insure that as many people as possible have the opportunity to enjoy the public beaches, fields and facilities in Westport.”
Additionally, for the safety and well-being of the public and athletes, and to help keep ball fields in good playing condition, animals also are not permitted on playing fields at any time of year.

"It is recommended that dogs remain on leash while on the perimeter of these town facilities," said Fava. "Also, owners are welcome to walk dogs on leash on the road around Longshore Golf Course, but animals are not allowed on the course at any time."
Fava concluded, "We love our furry friends and dogs are always welcome at Winslow Park. Located at Compo Road North and Post Road East, Winslow Park has posted on- and off-leash areas. The public is requested to heed those posted regulations while enjoying the park with their dogs."
