Westport’s happy, First Night Westport Weston is happy, on Dec. 31 everyone who enjoys the evening’s entertainment can leave happy.

Come to Jesup Green at 9:30 p.m. Bring your friends to the warming fire. Stargaze through a number of large telescopes. Listen to the music.

At 10 p.m., the pyrotechnics begin. You’ll see a sensational light show launched from a barge on the Saugatuck River near the Library.

A great way to wind up your First Night evening. Then on to ring in 2015.

First Night fun begins at 3 p.m., with the Survivors Swing Band at the McManus Room in the Library.

For the kids, a caricaturist, faceprinting and live music from 4 to 7 p.m. in the TD Bank lobby, and from 4 till 8:30 p.m. at Saugatuck Elementary School an inflatable park, a ventriloquist and a magician, and more music.

For the teens, the School of Rock will offer live music at Toquet Hall starting at 7:45 p.m.

And everyone can enjoy a variety of music acts at Christ & Holy Trinity Church’s Sanctuary, Branson Hall and at Seabury Center. From 6 to 8 p.m. Blues pianist Mark Naftalin, a 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, will offer his sophisticated blues at the Westport Historical Society.

Town Hall will feature a Fashion Show created by the New England Design and Fashion Association including Layana Aguilar, a recent winner of Lifetime TV’s Project Runway, at 5 p.m. And between 6:30 and 9:30 p.m. you can drop in on a comedy hypnotist.

Warm up with a spot tea at the Bigelow Tea House and stop by fortune tellers, palm readers, psychics and Tarot Card readers ($10 for 10 minutes, $1 for each additional minute). Later in the evening you can see three comedy plays staged by Westport Community Theater.

First Night Buttons are on sale now at Trader Joe’s, Westport Library, Oscar’s Deli, TD Bank, Weston Pharmacy and the Senior Center for $15. As always, children two and under can enjoy the day’s festivities for free. New this year, buttons will also be sold the day of the event all venues.
