Ultra-processed foods are easy to grab, quick to eat and hard to avoid. But when they make up too much of your diet, your body may start to notice.
“Ultra-processed foods can be convenient, but they’re often easy to overeat and may not offer the same nutritional value as whole or less-processed foods,” says Mehak Gandhi, MD, a primary care provider with Hartford HealthCare Medical Group in Fairfield. “When you start cutting back on them, your body may respond in ways you can actually feel.”
