Police said a woman who had been banned from all Whole Foods stores was recently charged with stealing from the chain's Westport location.

WESTPORT, CT — Police said a woman who had been banned from all Whole Foods store locations was recently charged with stealing from the store's Westport location. The incident occurred on Sept. 9 when store security reported a woman had hid several items in her purse, but paid for only one at checkout before leaving the store, police said.

Police said the suspect fled when confronted by security, who was able to provide officers with her vehicle's license plate number. Store security also recognized the suspect as Brianna Pennell, 34, of New Haven, who had previously been banned from all store locations, according to a release.

Police said the investigating officer submitted an arrest warrant application for Pennell, which was later granted and signed by a judge.
